And The People Said

“Tara Gibson has been a dear friend and colleague, but above all, she has been a true source of inspiration in my life. Her commitment to service, integrity, and uplifting others is not something she steps into for a campaign--it is who she is every single day. I have watched Tara lead with compassion, listen with intention, and take action with courage and conviction. Her example has motivated me to become more engaged in my own community and to believe in leadership rooted in care and accountability. Tara's decision to run for Brevard County Board District 1 is a natural extension of the values she has consistently lived by, and I am confident she will serve with the same heart, dedication, and authenticity that has inspired so many of us fortunate enough to know her. “

Sincerely,

Ms. Tara Gibson, I Jarrod Brothers truly don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am for you and the role you played in my life during the creation of the 2025 Countdown County Football Camp. This was my first camp, and at times the weight of it felt overwhelming, but you never let me face it alone. You believed in me when I needed it most, encouraged me when I felt unsure, and reminded me of my purpose when I felt tired or discouraged.Your support went far beyond help it was love, faith, and genuine care. You pushed me to see the bigger picture, not just for myself, but for the kids who needed this experience. Because of you, I gained confidence, clarity, and the courage to lead. This camp exists the way it does because of your heart, your guidance, and your unwavering belief in me. I will carry your words and your example with me moving forward, and I am forever thankful for the impact you’ve made on my life and this journey. From the bottom of my heart.

Community Leader

“As a former NFL athlete, I’ve spent my life around leaders who understand discipline, preparation, and accountability, and service. Those qualities are rare, and you recognize them immediately when you see them. That’s exactly what I saw in Tara Gibson.I had the opportunity to work alongside Tara during a community camp, and the experience showed me the depth of her commitment to the people of Brevard County. She brought structure, energy, and genuine care to every part of that event. She was hands-on, organized, and fully vested in making sure every child and their family felt supported, encouraged, and valued.Coming from a professional sports background, I pay attention to the details—how someone prepares, how they treat people, and how consistently they show up. Tara showed up with purpose. She stayed engaged from start to finish, and her presence elevated everyone around her. What she brought to that camp reminded me of the best coaches and teammates I’ve ever had.Tara Gibson represents the kind of steady, service-driven leadership that strengthens a community. She leads with integrity. She serves with intention. And she shows up for people--- not for recognition, but because it’s who she is.”

Coach Tara Gibson (Coach T is what we called her) has been a truly inspiring influence in my life. She taught me the importance of being on time and showing up ready, which helped me become more responsible and disciplined. Through her encouragement, I learned never to give up, even when things felt challenging. Coach T always emphasized working hard and giving my best effort, and her lessons have stayed with me both on and off the court. I truly admired her coaching style because she was fair, firm, and fun. Thanks, coach, for all your hard work.

“Tara Gibson has been a mentor and source of inspiration in my life for over a decade. I first met her more than ten years ago, and throughout that time, Coach T has consistently demonstrated resilience, leadership, and excellence while thriving in a male-dominated industry. Her ability to remain authentic, confident, and unwavering in her purpose has deeply influenced my own professional journey. As I pursue my path in professional sports, she continues to motivate and guide me—reminding me that while the field may be historically male-centered, it is essential that I carve out my own lane, lead with integrity, and define success on my own terms.”

“Tara Gibson was introduced to me after my final collegiate football game in 2006 during a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting at the University of West Georgia. I had become friends with Rita G., a member of the women’s basketball team at UWG, and Rita connected us because she was being mentored by Tara. At that point in my life, I truly did not know which direction to go, and I wasn’t sure if I had played my last game. Even though I didn’t have the money to hire an agent, Tara chose to invest in me and help me “level up” with professionalism—starting with a professional email, guidance on business cards, and the idea to get my workout materials in front of teams and coaches. She challenged me with honest, sometimes uncomfortable feedback, but it was exactly what I needed, and I received it because I could tell her heart was for my growth. What made Tara different was that she wasn’t just advising me—she was walking her own journey too, pursuing big dreams and pushing through obstacles with faith and resilience. Over time, she became more than a sports contact; she became a mentor and a true friend. Years later, when we did the Pep Talk podcast together, it reminded me that her impact wasn’t a moment—it was a foundation that I still lean on. Tara’s example of mentorship is rooted in integrity, purpose, and service, and she consistently encourages people to embrace the process, pivot when necessary, and keep going. That is why I am proud to support Tara Gibson as she runs for Brevard County School Board District 1—because she has already proven, in real life, that she shows up for people and helps them become better.”

“I first met Tara Gibson, affectionately known as “Coach,” in 2018 during a pivotal season of my life. I had recently graduated with my bachelor’s degree and, like many young adults, found myself uncertain about my next steps. While I had academic credentials, I lacked clarity, confidence, and a true sense of direction. Meeting Tara at that moment was not only timely—it was transformative. As my life coach, Tara helped me navigate the often-overwhelming transition from college to the professional world. She had a unique way of seeing potential in me before I fully saw it in myself. Through intentional conversations, goal-setting, and accountability, she helped me build confidence and recognize my strengths. Tara didn’t just give advice—she asked the right questions, challenged my thinking, and empowered me to make informed decisions about my future. One of the most impactful ways Tara inspired me was through her guidance on financial literacy and independence. As a young adult, I had very little exposure to what financial freedom truly meant. Tara introduced me to concepts such as budgeting, long-term planning, and intentional money management, all while emphasizing discipline and consistency. She broke down complex ideas in a way that was practical, relatable, and achievable. Because of her guidance, I developed healthier financial habits and a mindset focused on stability and growth—skills that continue to benefit me today. What stands out most about Tara is her balance of strength and compassion. She carries herself with confidence and authority, yet remains soft-spoken, approachable, and deeply empathetic. Her passion for helping others is evident in every interaction. Tara listens with intention, leads with integrity, and genuinely cares about the people she serves. These qualities have allowed her to positively impact not only my life, but the lives of countless others across different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Tara Gibson is a natural leader and educator at heart. She understands the importance of mentorship, accountability, and creating systems that support growth. Her ability to motivate, inspire, and uplift others makes her exceptionally well-suited to serve in a role that shapes the future of our community. As a candidate for School Board District 1, Tara brings lived experience, strong values, and a deep commitment to empowering others. Because of the influence Tara has had on my life, I am confident she would be an outstanding choice for School Board. Her leadership is authentic, her vision is people-centered, and her impact is undeniable. Our students, families, and community would greatly benefit from her service.”

“Tara has been part of my life and my children’s lives for over 15 years. She is not someone who showed up when it was convenient. Tara showed up when my family was in crisis. She showed up when it mattered. And she stayed. In 2010, I was a single mother raising two children while struggling to hold everything together. My son was a troubled fourteen-year-old, and I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and honestly losing hope. Tara saw what was happening before I could fully name it. She reached into her community, her faith, and her heart and connected my son to the MadeMen organization , a brotherhood of positive, disciplined, purpose-driven young men at Bethune-Cookman University.Tara and those young men embraced my son, mentored him, believed in him, and gave him what every child deserves: a sense of belonging, accountability, and vision for his future. At the same time, Tara poured into me. She didn’t judge me for the bad choices I made. She didn’t give up on me. She consistently encouraged me to seek help, to choose therapy, and to believe that my life and my children’s lives could be better. Because of her influence, I entered therapy, changed the course of my life, and became the woman and mother my children needed. Tara also mentored my daughter, creating volunteer opportunities, modeling leadership, and planting seeds of responsibility, compassion, and service that still shape who she is today.Today, my son is a Navy veteran who served our Country proudly. He is also a student at Utah Valley University. My daughter was part of her school’s gifted and talented Scholars Academy and continues to thrive. This did not happen by accident. It happened because Tara believed in our family when we were barely able to believe in ourselves. And she didn’t stop with us.Tara has consistently poured into her community through outreach programs like Smile Again, dental awareness initiatives, youth mentorship, food distribution, and quietly providing bikes, beds, books, and basic necessities to children who would otherwise go without. This is who she is, not for a season, not for a campaign, but as a life practice.Tara does not simply talk about community. She builds it.She does not just advocate for children. She invests in them. She does not just believe in education. She protects and nurtures the futures of real families. That is why I wholeheartedly and without reservation support Tara as a School Board District 1 Representative. Our children do not need more policy. They need leaders with lived compassion, proven commitment, and a history of action.Tara has all three. Our schools, our families, and our communities will be better because of her leadership.”

Let me tell you why I support Tara for the Brevard County School Board District 1. This woman doesn’t just talk about helping people — she shows up. Every. Single. Time. Whether it’s standing with families, lifting up students, or stepping in when someone needs real guidance, Tara leads with heart, clarity, and purpose.

She personally inspired me throughout my journey back to school through her actions. She listens with intention. She thinks with practicality. And she brings people together in a way that makes every voice feel seen, heard, and valued. Tara motivates simply by being who she is — steady, thoughtful, and committed to doing what’s right, even when no one’s watching.

That’s the kind of leadership our schools deserve. That’s the kind of leader our community can trust. And that’s precisely why I’m proud to stand behind her!”
